Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the programme is to prepare specialist in agricultural sciences, particularly in Agronomy, Veterinary, Animal Science, Food Processing Technology and Forestry, who will be competitive on the labour market as on local as on international level.

In the scope of the programme doctoral student acquires the knowledge based on the latest achievements of the field, creates new knowledge and after the doctoral academic degree is awarded, he or she is able to conduct academic and scientific work in higher education organizations and in scientific research institutes as in Georgia as abroad.


Career Options:

Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be able to work:

  • as a scientist or researcher in private and public organizations and structural units;
  • as academic personnel in the universities;
  • as consultant, leading analyst/researcher in private and in public organizations on local and international level.

Knowledge and Understanding (Agronomy)

Graduate possesses knowledge based on the latest achievements in agronomy, which enables him or her to widen the knowledge and apply innovative methods (on the level required for the referential publication).

Through critical analyses and assessment of the current knowledge in agronomy, graduate can acknowledge the extend of updated knowledge.

 

Applying Knowledge to Practice (Agronomy)

Graduate is able to plan, implement and monitor innovative research in agronomy independently; develop new research and analytical methods and approaches, which are oriented on creation of new knowledge and reflected in international referential journals.

 

Knowledge and Understanding (Veterinary)

Graduate possesses knowledge based on the latest achievements in veterinary, which enables him or her to widen the knowledge and apply innovative methods (on the level required for the referential publication).

Through critical analyses and assessment of the current knowledge in veterinary, graduate can acknowledge the extend of updated knowledge.

Graduate possesses knowledge based on the latest achievements in forestry, which enables him or her to widen the knowledge and apply innovative methods (on the level required for the referential publication).

Through critical analyses and assessment of the current knowledge in in forestry, graduate can acknowledge the extend of updated knowledge.

 

Applying Knowledge to Practice (Forestry)

Graduate is able to plan, implement and monitor innovative research in in forestry independently; develop new research and analytical methods and approaches, which are oriented on creation of new knowledge and reflected in international referential journals.

 

Ability to Make Conclusion

Graduate can conduct complex and critical analyses, synthesis and assessment of new, complicated and contradictory ideas, theories, data and approaches. This can support creation/development of new methodology and finding correct and effective ways for problem resolution independently.

 

Communication Skills

Graduates will have the ability to:

  • present new knowledge in correlation with the current knowledge argumentatively and clearly;
  • participate in discussions in the foreign language with the international scientists’ society;
  • write and communicate in a native language perfectly;
  • write (academic writing) and communication in a foreign (English) language;
  • adapt and act professionally in an unfamiliar environment;
  • use information and communication technologies.

 

Ability to Learn

With the knowledge based on the latest achievements of the field, the graduate is ready to develop new ideas and processes in order to support the study, research or any other work.
