Mariam Berishvili will undergo retraining through the ESAVS program

Veterinarium’s internist, Mariam Berishvili, will undertake advanced training in the internationally accredited Internal Medicine program offered by one of Europe’s leading veterinary schools, the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS), in the Netherlands. 

The program fee is EUR 4,300 and will be fully covered by the Kakha Bendukidze Knowledge Fund and Veterinarium’s Staff Development Fund. 

Another Veterinarium internist, Nutsa Besashvili, will join Mariam Berishvili in the Netherlands to complete the same program (we previously published a post about her). Her training will also be fully funded by the Kakha Bendukidze Knowledge Fund and Veterinarium’s Staff Development Fund.

The ESAVS Internal Medicine program is highly comprehensive, covering key areas such as hematology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and hepatology. It places strong emphasis on the management of clinical cases based on international protocols, as well as on the interpretation of laboratory data. The final part of the program focuses specifically on coagulation and coagulation disorders.

The ESAVS Certificate and Master’s programs provide cutting-edge education in clinical veterinary disciplines. Training is based on intensive theoretical and practical sessions, assessments, and a problem-oriented clinical approach. These programs are delivered in collaboration with leading universities and clinics across approximately 20 countries in Europe. ESAVS programs are accredited by the ATF (Akademie für tierärztliche Fortbildung), which operates under the Federal Chamber of Veterinarians of Germany (Bundestierärztekammer - BTK). This accreditation aligns with the requirements of the Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE, USA), the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS, UK), and the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
