The Hermaphrodite Kitty

Meet Sisi, the Hermaphrodite Kitty.
Sisi, a 1-year-and-7-month-old Chinchilla cat, had always been known as a girl until now. She was brought to Veterinarium after developing urinary problems.
Sisi was examined by Veterinarium’s internist and ultrasonographer Nutsa Besashvili. It was Nutsa who discovered something extraordinarily rare in cats: Sisi has a Disorder of Sexual Development (DSD).
DSD means that an animal has both male and female reproductive structures due to a genetic developmental anomaly. According to various veterinary sources, its estimated prevalence may be as low as one case in several million.
In addition to this finding, Sisi was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, for which she is currently receiving treatment. Further diagnostics are planned, including blood tests, cardiac ultrasound, and computed tomography, followed by sterilization to minimize any health-related risks for Sisi as much as possible.
