Salome Badiashvili will attend online courses offered by the British organization VetCPD

10 May 2026

Salome Badiashvili is a veterinary assistant at Veterinarium, working in the fields of internal medicine and laboratory diagnostics.

With the support of the Kakha Bendukidze Knowledge Fund, she will attend online courses offered by the British organization VetCPD:

  • Skin Cytology
  • Cytology of the Internal Organs

The Skin Cytology for General Practice course covers the fundamentals of dermatological cytology in small animals, ranging from sampling techniques and slide evaluation methods to the cytological features of the most common inflammatory and neoplastic conditions. The course will also include clinical case discussions and diagnostic algorithms.

The Cytology of the Internal Organs course is particularly important in modern veterinary medicine, as cytological evaluation of internal organs often allows for the rapid and minimally invasive diagnosis of various pathological conditions, especially neoplastic lesions. The course focuses on the cytological assessment of the most common changes affecting internal organs in dogs and cats, with particular attention to tumors and neoplastic processes. Both thoracic and abdominal organs will be covered throughout the course.

Salome is also a Master’s student at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Agricultural University of Georgia.

Within the framework of the exchange program between the Agricultural University of Georgia and Estonian University of Life Sciences, Salome spent one semester studying in Estonia. During her studies, she completed all courses with the highest grade, A, and successfully undertook important disciplines including Veterinary Microbiology, Animal Infectious Diseases, Pathological Morphology, Basics of Veterinary Public Health and Food Hygiene, Clinical-Laboratory Diagnostics of Production Animals and Equine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Informatics, and Biometrics.

Currently, Salome is working together with Veterinarium’s Head Veterinarian Lasha-Giorgi Japaridze, Vice Rector of the Agricultural University of Georgia Natia Samushia, and Professor Giorgi Melashvili on the implementation of bacteriological diagnostics at Veterinarium, which will soon become available to our patients.
