Meeting of the advisory board

The second meeting of the Advisory Board of Free and Agricultural Universities was held in the Dighomi campus on 10-11th of June, 2013 (first meeting was held on 4- 5th of February, 2013). Similar meetings will be held two times every year. It has strategic importance for the development of advancement and reliability of the university. The Board sessions focused on the latest developments of the university, faculty development plans, student life and cooperation with American universities in terms research and teaching. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation with the University of Georgia (UGA) in the US State of Georgia and University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It was decided that a study tour of the delegation from Free and Agricultural Universities will visit UGA and UNLV, together with other US universities in the second half of August. The next meeting of the Advisory Board will be held in December 2012.

The Advisory Board of the Free and Agricultural Universities is composed of the following members:

The Chairman of the International Advisory Board is James A. Thomson, who served as RAND Corporation's fourth president from 1989 to 2011 and is now president emeritus and a professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School.

Paul O'Neill, former Secretary of the Treasury of the USA and Chairman/CEO of Alcoa.

Gale Buchanan, former dean of the School of Agriculture and Environmental Science at the University of Georgia, USA, and former Under Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Wyatt "Rory" Hume, former head of the University of New South Wales and former second-in-authority at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the University of California system, and the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). He is currently with the Qatar Foundation.

Neal Smatresk, President of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
