Success of Young Forestry Scientist

Lado Basilidze, who is currently master’s student of forestry in Agricultural University of Georgia, he is also young scientist in Vasil Gulisashvili Forest Institute and works as a Non-Timber Forest Products Specialist in NGO “Rural Communities Development Agency (RCDA)” has published the practical brochure – Income Opportunities in Non-Timber Forest Products", in the framework of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) and EC funded project “Supporting Agricultural Co-operation in Georgia”. The publication is a guideline for rural communities and other stakeholders to gain additional income from non-timber forest products. Detailed information about botanical description, geographical distribution, medicinal and culinary uses, products made from certain fruit as well as market and competition considerations of non-timber forest products is given.
